My Blog Blows with the Wind?

As I read here now, I wonder sometimes if my blog here is a "Blessing" (per my last post)? Why do I bother to write and post here? Why do I force myself to share?

It's not that I really care if anyone else cares about what I write ... or if they like my photos, ART and poems. I could care less if anyone agrees with me on politics either ... agree to disagree is okay with me as long as lives are not at stake. Mostly, my blog is just my wanting to have a place to vent and to be heard ... even if the only recipients are ever me and the mysterious universe. In many ways, I think my Blog acts as a voice of reason that helps to keep me sane.

Sometimes when I look at my stats, I wonder where my images wind up? Most of my hits are for images ... although my writes on "contraception" have gotten a lot of hits too: 60+ just for the original post. Every now and again, the human side of me wishes someone would leave me a comment to thank me for the image they have borrowed or at least to leave a link to where my image was used for me to see. Then again, I stop and think: maybe one of my photos hangs on the wall in someone's home or office, graces the backdrop of their PC or other device and in doing so brings a much needed smile to someone's face. God Bless all who pass this way.

I've given up trying to figure out "following"? My blog seems to blow with the wind ... Every 12 hours, or so, I seem to be moved into a new neighborhood for reasons that I often fail to understand.  A few days back I was surrounded by lots of "Mommy" blogs, then I moved into the neighborhood with many "Catholic" and other religious type blogs ... Yesterday, I found myself surrounded by a bunch of dog-lovers. Is the universe trying to tell me its time to give a new puppy a home after the passing of my German Shepherd of 13+ years last spring?

A few of the blogs I have tried to follow have left for "Wordpress pages" ... though I can't see why?  I tried WordPress for my writing, at the urging of some writer friends, but I only posted one single poem ... before my patience gave out. I found the Wordpress format to be very constraining and the audience limited. Seems that if you want to do anything with your page you have to subscribe to an upgrade for a fee that is $30.00++ dollars per year. I really do have to give the Blogger Team a lot credit here;  they have awesome tools, unlimited space, lots of cool gadgets and free templates that are highly customizable. And the Blogger Team is very receptive to user inputs for new ideas.  Seems Blogger is always rolling out new improvements. You just can't beat the Blogger experience, in my humble opinion.  Thank you, Blogger Team!

Adsense$$ seems to work well for many who use it as a source of revenue generation.  For me, I have no desire to make money from my blog ... I would enable Adsense if I could have the money generated from ads donated directly to a charity, anonymously --leaving me out of the loop entirely-- but thus far I have not figured out a way to do this.

So even though I may disappear for short periods of time --when my "real life" becomes overwhelming-- I will keep Blogger in my life for the foreseeable future.  Besides, a very wise and talented man --and one of my all-time favorite artists-- once said "The Answer is Blowing in the Wind" (link explores meaning behind these words and the meaning of the song). Happy Blogging, ya'll : )

4/2/2012  ... Well I haven't moved in a few days now.  My new location allows me to pray for those in perhaps the most dire of situations.  You don't like to stop and think that slavery of any sort still goes on in this day and age, but the harsh reality is that it does.  Perhaps awareness and many prayers will bring this ugly truth to light and put an end to it once and for all: http://www.thelostspeople.com/

BLOGGER Go-Round ...

It's been fun ... and funny ... to watch my blog bounce around the blogsphere ... here on blogger. I have to admire Blogger for their dedication to grouping blogs of a similar theme near one another. Since my blog has no ONE driving theme, however ... (other than clearing my head ... which needs to be dumped periodically, or I'd surely suffer a mind-meltdown : ) ::   I have been ALL OVER the place and BACK AGAIN.

For a time this summer, I was put in with the 'writers and poets.'  Summer was a difficult time for me and I began reading and writing lots of poetry in an effort to stay sane, I guess.  Then in the Fall, I was bumped in with a really cool group of artists ... which I didn't quite feel that I deserved.   I had begun jewelry making over the summer (again a sanity saving measure ; ).  I had also discovered a wonderful art site and began exploring art and art history of the pre-raphaelites.  I shared many of my favorite paintings and made lots of art posts.  And now that I think a bit more on it, I do seem to recall a few photography posts intermixed in there as well.  So perhaps my brief stint in the art category was justified.  Was fun while it lasted!

Around Thanksgiving and early Christmas, I was moved into the neighborhood with some pretty intense musicians and rappers ... from all of my music posts ... songs ... references to and songs by Jimi Hendrix, a write-up on a favorite opera ... I guess?

Most recently, I seem to have been lumped in with bloggers writing with a  religious theme ... I'm okay with that, I guess? ... The religious thing ... hmmm?  Well, I do consider myself to be a pretty spiritual person?  I spend a fair amount of time listening to God, the Creator, and praying for the needs of others.  Just don't enjoy being judged by the pious.

And if anyone has bothered to read between lines here in my blog, you'd find a black and white movie, a Greek tragedy perhaps? ... or at the very least the beginnings of an intriguing opera?  Yes, I've always been more than what I choose to share with others on the surface ...  I'm an insomniac too, so I log on here at all kinds of strange hours and write ... often with many typos, missing words, etc. ... prolonged lack of sleep can have that effect on you ... what can I say? ... re-editing is what we writers (in the home stretch of finishing off my first novel) do best anyway, no?

One place that I haven't visited yet is the 'diet crowd' ... which seems strange to me, given all my references to stomach problems and not being able to eat ... fasting?  Guess there is a subtle difference between not being able to eat and trying to eat healthier.

Oh well, guess I can't complain?  It's been a fun ride thus far!  : )  Thanks again, Blogger, for your dedication! You guys truly ROCK!  I love having my blog to vent, clear my head and express myself.  And it is neat that, occassionally, I am able to make a small difference in someone else's life.

Look forward to seeing where I'll wind up next ... on the BLOGGER ride ....  ; )

Cheers!

P.S. Post on government & politics coming next ... finally found time to finish up my research on E.O.s  ... Have to hold on tightly for that post or I might just get thrown off this ride?!  ; )

I Dare You Guys at Blogger ...

Okay?!  Is it just me, or does that piece of cake on the blogger login page look awfully inviting?  What's up with that? I know ... I know:  HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOGGER!

Hey, here's an idea:  Why don't you brilliant minds at Blogger create a 'playlist' at playlist.com to celebrate?  I'd love to see what you all would put together for a list.  Are you based in Austin?  Remember that you were having some sort of get together celebration there a while back?  Isn't the 'Austin City Limits Music Festival' coming up there soon?  In October right? So you can draw your inspiration from that upcoming musical gathering.  Seriously, are you guys up for the challenge of putting together a list?  Dare ya ... No pressure, I just love this song! : )

P.S. Had a lot of stuff going on in my life these past few weeks+++.  Thanks again for providing a place to vent and stay sane ...

Happy Birthday Blogger!

Happy 10Th Birthday Blogger!

Quite an accomplishment! Thank you all, for providing an alternative to Face book, and the like, where some actual thought can occur. Leading a busy life, coping with the challenges of parenthood -- most challenging job of my life to date! -- and not having much time to myself, Blogger has a been a great place for me to vent and to see what others are actually thinking too.

I have no delusions that legions of people actually care what I think, or happen to say -- there's just too much glittering competition out there to compete with -- but being able to reflect on my life and the world around me -- to clear my head -- has been good for me. And just maybe, from time to time, what I have to say might make its way to just the person that needs to read it (e.g., Children: Opening our Hearts and Minds, November 3, 2008, Label: Abortion).

Writing my Blog has also made me aware of the fact, that I actually do enjoy writing -- go figure? And this realization has inspired me to take some of the many stories, rattling around in my head, and formalize them into the sci-fi thriller (book) that I am very near to completing. Once I finalize the publication details, I'll see if I can post some chapters on my blog. Until then, keep up the great work! Love all of the new tools, gizmos, and gadgets. My eleven year-old has fun trying the latest gadgets out and updating my blog for me. You guys rock! As my youngest says, "Peace, out!".
