Sage Advice ...

Best piece of usable advice I have received in a LONG time:

"The present moment is where the rubber hits the road."

Yup, it's happening right now.  Take it in, on multiple levels, then move spherically and in multiple dimensions simultaneously.

Busy, busy with ******** Wish me luck!  Will be back to reply to so many wonderful comments at the beginning of March 2019.  Best to everyone!

First of all I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I've had trouble
clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally
lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
Appreciate it!

Thank you all for your support. Your comments really do go a long way toward helping me focus and find my way to continuing to share. I have a really hard time sharing, being 'seen' by others sometimes. Thus this blog (By way of the talented Blogger Team) is a really useful and beneficial tool for me. Writing here really helps me clear my head and focus better. I like the idea of maybe helping others to embrace a genuine willingness to consider another perspective and likewise by your comments and feedback I too can do the same.

As for the comment on "centering myself for writing" question .. To be honest my 'process' for writing kind of starts as I go about living each day, unfolding gradually over the course of an entire day and sometimes over the course of multiple days. There are things I hear, see, read that kind of spark a conversation deep within me. Then I follow up on these sparks of inspiration throughout the day by having conversations with others, doing additional research (as needed) and sometimes even reading over again things I had written in the past. So by the time I actually sit down to write --usually very late at night-- I've already 'started writing' in my mind, if that makes any sense. When I sit down at the keyboard to put my ideas down in the form of actual words it's kind of like an ocean tide unleashing upon a tranquil bay ... the words just flow right out of me onto the page, with varying degrees of intensity depending upon the subject matter. I will admit that this initial unleashing is often filled with grammatical/spelling errors, but I can't let those things stop me from writing. I just go back for several edit sessions to refine my words, thoughts and ideas. It's a process and it definitely doesn't happen all at once, in any particular sequential order. Besides the randomness, embracing an openness to new approaches and experiences kind of helps with that maintaining neuro-plasticity in your brain, right? I don't often write things down, but sometimes I'll scribble or doodle on scrap paper. Sometimes I will pre-write in a journal, especially things I don't wish to share with a larger audience. If you're really struggling, I might suggest joining a writing group, even an on-line group. I also read a lot. I'm always searching topics and doing late night reading, reading books etc. There is a wealth of material to be found in the words of others. From another perspective on actual writing your own words: it helps to have other writers to bounce your ideas off and receive feedback. The feedback itself can be very centering. There are many writing groups on Facebook. I used to run one several years back, but I have since left Facebook due to privacy concerns. If you post on-line be sure to mark your work with copyright notices where applicable, just to be safe. Beyond that happy writing! = ))) Just relax and enjoy the unfolding of new revelations within yourself. To my way of thinking the struggle for perfection is counter-productive. You just have to go with the flow and then be willing to go back and edit. Ever heard the famous Bruce Lee quote "Be like water, my friend." Try it, it really works! Best to you and do stop back by again sometime to let me know how you're doing. Would truly love to hear from you!
