Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Wall ....

Hard for me to get really worked up about politics these days? Kind of feel like an avid sports fan who went to a big game for my favorite sports team, standing in the bleachers and screaming at the top of my lungs --though, in truth, I seldom scream. Well my “team lost” and now, in the aftermath of the big game, I’m left extremely hoarse --and perhaps slightly disillusioned, for a number of reasons.  Guess, I mostly feel like just being quiet, curtailing my political efforts to observing for a time.

Kind of feel like Humpty Dumpty had a great fall and I’m not altogether certain that “all of the King’s men” can “put Humpty Dumpty back together again.” Think I’m just hoping --and praying daily-- that a fierce storm doesn’t come along and completely blow Humpty Dumpty away? Maybe the next set of men … women … will be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again, if they can find all of the pieces once again? They may have to fabricate some new pieces when this dust settles … I will say this, however:  It’s still about the economy stupid! And the solution is to open the doors, starting with approval of the Keystone Pipeline (and then moving onto enacting meaningful legislation/incentives that would encourage U.S. companies to bring jobs back into the USA).  In order to get our sputtering economy going once again, we need put people back to work, in real jobs --jobs that will stand the test of time without additional government funding.  More people working will immediately translate into an increased revenue coming into the federal government so that our elected officials can then begin to address other concerns ... And voila: things magically begin to fall into line.  Then again, maybe 4+ years of a lousy economy has conditoned people to think that we "need" BIG Government and that it has all of the answers?

Through My Looking Glass ...

I LOVE Alice from "Alice In Wonderland"!! She was my first true heroine ... Of course, I took the base story and ran away with it in my imagination, but Alice will always have a special place in my heart. ♥

"Through My Looking Glass"

Fluid, thought provoking reflection ...
Introspection?
Truth lies in imperfection?
Two sides to every truth.
Two sides there are to this mirror.

Looking glass, show me what truly matters.
Save me from a life torn in tatters.
If the mirror is fluid it won't really shatter?

Take a stand ! On which side are you?
Do you believe in Wonderland ...
Do you ... do you do?

Close your eyes, make a wish and cross over:
A much more gainful game is there moreover.

Follow the white rabbit.
It's a course of habit;
He'll show you the way.

Silly truths from days of innocent youth
Are in need of new equations for their proof:
Long hidden secrets revealing their truth.

Too much to bear?
Just release your care ...
Time for a tea party in company of
Mad Hatter and the March Hare.
Truth be told, they have much more fun in 'there.'

Smoke the pipe of the wise caterpillar
That'll rattle your brain!
Get back up on your feet again.
Set you on path to figuring out  just who you are ...
Sadly there'll be no silly wishing upon a falling star.

Truth is allusion, spewing confusion,
And illusion is truth.
If you don't like what you see,
Then take Cheshire cat's lead and
Apparate a new spoof.

Feeling insignificant? Ever so small?
Want to be up to the ceiling tall?
Nibble some psychedelic mushroom
And watch yourself bloom ...
Big enough to fill up the entire room.
Nibble right to grow up, Up and UP ...
Nibble left to change it up,
Back to earth you'll swiftly fall.

Everything is backwards in Wonderland
Thinking logically: it's impossible to understand.
Just  take it on faith,  let go your wraith
And watch the white knight mount his steed,
Riding backwards, speaking the same, into
Yesterday's forlorn sunset.
Everything you have need of lies within
Your seemingly simple hand.

Find your inner strength; Best your courage!
Take on the Bloody Big-Headed Red Queen
And her champion the Jabberwocky.
Check and mate, time at last to meet your fate.
For you see, it's never too late ...
Vorpel sword in hand,
Step forth with gesture grand
And slay the forked-tongued beast.

Vorpel sword brandished: Red Queen  is  jubilantly banished.
Crown returned to rightful head, White Queen sits in place instead.
Mirrored-world  is freed from dread; they'll be no more "Off with their heads!"

Before you leave:  Roll up your sleeve,
Remember what had been written there and
Take heed of what the dormouse said:  Don't forget to "Feed your head."

Close your eyes, make a wish and cross over:
A much more gainful game is there moreover.

Freed at last, captive no more,
You are ready to sail for distant shore.
Chrysalis completed,
Destiny meeted,
Spread your wings and fly, Fly, FLY!
Freed at last, no more need of 'how' or 'why'.
Feet once bound unto earth now touch sky.

Farewell my mirrored-world of Wonderland ...
I think, at last, I finally understand.
Until we meet again ...

Fluid, thought provoking reflection ...
Introspection?
Truth lies in imperfection?
Two sides to every truth.
Two sides there are to this mirror.

Government & Politics will just have to wait ...

I know I promised my next post would reveal all about the elusive E.O.s, but insomnia has been unreal lately.  I'm starting to see double I'm so tired ... :  )  I make of the most it and try to write when I can, read after that, and if I'm still up around 2 a.m., I resort to jewelry making.  My latest quest has been to try to use leftover pieces, in an effort to make something useful while eliminating scraps and waste.  Here's what I've been able to conjure up this past week ...

Note:  these pictures were all taken after 2 a.m. ... so you get what you get ...

This turquoise stone set, and matching hair ties, are a tribute my Native American heritage on my mother's side.  My Native American Indian name is 'Moon Willow' (and I had no influence on the outcome ... funny the way things work out and ring so true ...).

This purple bracelet and earrings are a tribute to the birthstone for the month of February: the amethyst.

Someone asked if this was 'face jewelry'? I had to laugh, but it is a valid observation. No, it isn't 'face jewelry' ... even though it happens to be pictured on the face of a statue of Buddha.  I was trying to find a good contrasting background and this book just happened to be on hand.  ; )

This bracelet and earrings set is a tribute of the 'Queen of Hearts', from the story "Alice in Wonderland".

I love the story of Alice in her wonderland.  This was one of the first 'big' books I ever read.  My godfather gave me a very old copy of this treasured tale ... it was loaded with lot of fabulous prints and illustrations.  I need to find that book ... my copy of "Alice in Wonderland".  It's probably worth something today ... given how old the book was?  And this book ... my "Alice in Wonderland"... also has an enormous sentimental value to me as well.  Would be fun to reread and share with my daughters before the movie comes out.

I've often pondered late at night, and up all alone, what I wouldn't give for the secret to a refreshing, peaceful night's sleep that lasted longer than 3-4 hours ...  If you have any secrets:  PLEASE SHARE!  I'm so tired and yet still wired?!  I've tried just about everything ... won't do sleeping pills unless I'm at my wits end ... I hate drugs of any kind.  I don't drink coffee anymore (gave it up for good this summer) and I haven't had a 5-hour energy in days.

P.S.  Checked in on Abe via WheresGeorge.com
I brought him from Seattle back to Fort Worth, Texas and left him at the DFW airport.  Either he's still there, or whoever has him hasn't bothered to log in and give us a status update.  I'm kinda bummed.  : (  I did my part?  I'll try sending some positive energy his way.  Hopefully, he's having a trip wherever he may happen to be.  Hopefully he didn't meet his final demise in another washing machine load?!  And no, that wasn't my doing ... he was that way when I found him ...
