My sister, Aimee, and some from high school days, that I've kept in touch with, are logging onto a virtual reunion site for our old Alma matter. They are having fun, hooking up with old friends and reconnecting. They've been urging me to do the same, but I'm just not ready to do that yet.
High school had some fond memories for me (e.g., Dance Drill Team, Yearbook, Newspaper, Student Council, long bus rides --to and from school-- across the rolling English countryside, and good friends), but it also held some dark times. I'm just not ready to go back there and revisit those times. Writing my book has been great (free!) therapy -- not all of the chapters will make it into the final copy, but it is a good release. Perhaps, when I am done writing the book, I will be ready to hookup with old friends again. Who knows, I might even be up for Boston 2010?
Yesterday, I did check out the site, just to see what some of the people that I knew have been up to. It is good to see people smiling, many with spouses and children. I do think of you all often and you are in my prayers, even if we haven't spoken in many, many years. It is so good to see you all happy and healthy. May God continue to bless and guide you! Hi Elsa. You look good. Hey, Brett. Beautiful family. Thanks for sharing all of the great photos Chris (Witzke). Your place looks beautiful. Hey, BJ. You look happy. Look for your name in my book. Hi Mary Rasmussen, Kathy Carl, Donna Chrone, David Barbour. All the best, to all the rest that I did not have time to mention. God Bless! [I've kept in touch with Kathy Wright, Eileen Mathewson, Monica Mathewson, and Cassie Wilson. Saw Brett and Pat Mulberger during college years, when I was in San Antonio. Lost touch since then.] (Maybe you'll see this; maybe you won't, but I've thrown my bottle out into the vast sea of the universe.)
Speaking of prayers, if any of you all knew Cassie Wilson (She moved to Belgium, with her family, for her senior year), her father is very ill and dying of pancreatic cancer. I haven't heard back from her since she told me of his illness, but I have written to her just the same. So, I don't know how he's doing, or how she's doing, but I know that they were very close. He was a very kind and generous man. Please keep them in your prayers! Thanks!
Well so much for my brief stroll down memory lane, gotta kick it back into gear, and speed back into the fast lane that is my life with energetic, intelligent, and insatiable daughters out of school for the summer. I've got a book to finish too! Fall 2009 or bust!
Hope ya'll have a truly awesome summer!
God Bless!
